We know now that the scene is unfortunately reflective of actual Hollywood life, but it’s not a great look for Pixar to be satirizing it in this way. Toy Story 2 was originally released in 1999, well before public conversations about workplace harassment were as widespread as they are now. He also totally stares at their butts on the way out. Once he notices the camera, he quickly makes up an excuse about providing them with acting tips, and shows them out. “And so you two are absolutely identical? You know I’m sure I can get you a part in Toy Story 3,” he says, grabbing one of the doll’s hands. The now-deleted clip shows Stinky Pete (voiced by Kelsey Grammar) chatting with two Barbie dolls in his toy box, unaware that the camera is on him. It’s easy to see why Disney, which bought Pixar in 2006, would choose to remove the scene in 2019.
